Here's a pic of what I did for my 8770. I've got 18.4 46 tires on so adding the step was mandatory for me too. I used baler belting and bought the step. I figure it's a good idea to have something that will move a little if needed and I made sure it lines up with the tire so I avoid hitting corn when I'm side dressing. It's actually quite stable
