I wonder if this belt drive oil pump is internal or external drive. If it's external that wouldn't be to bad.

It's in the oil pan, belt and pump. So fuel diluting oil would get on the belt. Anything else you might not want would also. 

I mean Ford is using plastic oil pans on some pickup and other engines. And they leak since plastic mated to metal isn't a great way to make a seal
