That’s not the question. My situation is unlikely to be yours. His situation is unlikely to be either of us. It’s good advice in any case. As farmers most of us are more used to “feast or famine” type income. Then general population.
In disclosure I do not have $400 a month going into separate account for car payments, $200 for car repairs… but $40k in checking for unexpected stuff. $200k in plus 6 months.
But I have lived paycheck to paycheck. Just pulled $$40 a month phone insurance. 2 phones. If one gets broke in two years we still are money ahead. Every cell I have had. *until last one* the cell company told me in 6 months it would no longer work with their new equipment. So I figure odds are in my favor. But I can cover it. |
