Halewia, this sort of depends on your intended use.I would assume as its going to be a shop and no huge second story the least cost is...Grade /compact your site,Pour your entire slab, put pins in perimeter where you stub walls will be .Buy foam block foundation froms, put the proper rebar in the forms, likely 4 runs.If you are not back filling you should have foam under slab in 2 ft from edge and out 2 ft.backfilling with a few feet of earth should prevent intrusion under slab but this you will decide on your area.Put your plate bolts in the surface of the form after pour, soonest. If you do this this winter make little foam condoms for your bolts so frost doesnt follow them ,cover top of foam blocks with a tad of straw. The ease of foam block walls is crazy simple and only gets a bit spooky over 4 ft.,,no concrete crews to hire,no forms to take off ,zero cold intrusion thru the double foamed stub walls.Strong beyond. This one was 4 ft,on a burned off building slab.
