 | You must have an expensive version of the payroll.  Our QB desktop renewed in December for $1053.95.  Our Quickbooks payroll renewed in January for $896.75.  I'd gotten an email saying it was going to be $1100 + $5 per direct deposit but they only charged me the $896.75 and we don't use the QB direct deposit, we do it through our bank ACH so there's no charge.  A lot of people recommend using Gusto for payroll and Xero for accounting; however once we started adding it up, it wasn't much cheaper. Totally agree with you regarding the cost increases of Intuit/Quickbooks.  As another mentioned, it's just a cost of doing business that's going up like everything else.
