Years ago we would go to Chicago in the winter to the National Seed Trades Association convention.  Only drove to Chicago once, 25 years ago.  Usually fly in and take cabs everywhere for 2-3 days.  25 years ago. 

I want to drive in this time and spend 3 days in Chicago down town area.       Prob. 2 of the days at the Chicago Art Inst.  

Looking at hotels near the Inst.  Uber after we arrive, I think.  We can get a hotel about 2-3 blocks from the Inst. 

Will it be safe, during the day time to walk those 2-3 blocks ?  

I believe the hotel has parking.  

Am I crazy to even be driving into this part of town ?
