1/3 and 2/3 is a really good way to sure bankruptcy. That maybe worked years ago,but no way can you give away a 1/3 of the crop with today’s input prices. 50/50 split with both parties sharing the revenue less certain input costs
Ie. seed, fertilizer, chem and crop insurance is still the most fair way. Otherwise anything more than 25% won’t work in today’s environment.


According to my experience and my math it works ok on highly productive land. Not well on lower quality land.
