Agree Kevin.  I think, in general, the easier people have it the more they complain.  I knew many people, both friends and family, who lived through the Great Depression and they seldomly complained about it.  Same with those served in the military during wartimes.  Today it seems to have become fashionable to whine and complain constantly about the economy, politics etc.  I think social media has had a huge influence on that.
