I knew we weren't getting g the land back, because the new owner was upset about manure spreading screwing up his deer hunting. I simply looked up the law and informed him even a verbal lease needed to be terminated before Nov 1 (I believe). We were allowed to work it that next year. I would definitely look up the law in the state statutes. It's not terribly hard with a Google search. Let them know the law, and he may just agree without involving a lawyer.
I would also do it as nicely as possible, and ask why you're being replaced and if there's anything you can do to change their mind. Maybe it's just money, maybe they want some crops left for deer (leave the headland area and you're not losing much here). There's a small chance you can farm it, it's worth a try before burning the whole relationship down. | |
