Amazon had or has a chain of stores that works like you describe. No cashiers and no self checkout or scanning. Google says the first one opened in 2018
I've been hearing that all of the stores will be like that shortly. Been hearing it for nearly a decade now.............but have yet to shop in one.
But I do figure that where I live.............I'd probably be about the last to see it.
