West Central Iowa
I have experience in the egg industry. Currently, COP per dozen should be under $1/dozen. Almost the entire industry is on some sort of cost+ contract for about $0.10 over COP. As a result, most eggs are costing processors less than $1.25/dozen. If you are on the open market (virtually no one), eggs on the cash market are trading at nearly $3.00/dozen. HPAI has definitely affected layer inventories, but the reality is that the Costcos and WalMarts of the world are blaming "production issues" and sticking it to the consumer.
