$9/ dozen eggs is going to encourage a lot of backyard chicken flocks.  And that is probably not going to help the avian Influenza situation.

In my opinion.

Locally, one of the convenience stores has eggs with a price listed as $6.99/ dozen.  I say "price listed", and not "selling price" , as I don't know how many dozen they are selling at the price. Anyone who is price conscious can find eggs locally for less than that. 

This is southern PA.
