I would think that could happen sooner rather than later. If perfected, I would think it would save a lot of money in misread barcodes or some items not even scanned at all. If retailers can get paid for every item leaving the store then prices should come down just a little since they don’t have that loss to makeup. Plus no labor expense for checkout people.
