Fruita CO | Not so much cold temp, but temp variation is not good for machine tools. My old machinist friend kept his shop at 70 deg. all the time, never turned the heat down on weekends or nights. Claimed that expansion & contraction affected the accuracy of precision machines. His big crank grinder was 10 feet between centers, that much metal will move a lot when the temp changes.
Woodworking tools, I know, are not as precision as a crank grinder, but something to think about... | |
