Somebody posted the other day trails open in southern Manitoba. Are they just open or is there good snow? Never ridden in Canada, would be a new experience for sure. Gonna have to trailer a long way to ride this winter it looks like. North Iowan here.

I don’t want to steal your thread, but I find it humorous that you are looking for snow to go riding in cold temps. Here in Houston,,,,,, it got down to 28-30 this morning and half the morning news is telling me to prepare for the cold and limit my exposure.
I learned a very long time ago to find a winter activity besides chores to enjoy what can be long, cold, for months on end. Ice fishing to boring for me, actually got my wife a sled a few years ago, found something we both enjoy, although she doesn’t handle the brutal cold very well. Favorite destination has been Bergland, Mi., that area was completely devoid of snow last season, not much better so far this season either. If you’ve never ridden a modern day sled in the north woods, we’ll let’s just say, you don’t know what you’re missing! Some good watering holes scattered about are a plus, fella can’t work up a powerful thirst. In moderation of course, liquid courage and trees don’t mix very well.
