RR Valley, ND; MN native | Yesterday went to the store 7 miles away. 2020 Subaru been sitting outside since last week Tuesday. Its been cold and yesterday morning it was about -7F when I started the car. Turned over a hair slow but not a surprise. Drove to the store and was in there 30min came out to leave. Dash lights up but no start. Tried a couple times nothing.
Called for a tow truck and waited about 30 min. Truck guy suggested maybe the battery was not charged enough from sitting a week in the cold (?? how would it have started at my house then ??). Anyway, puts jumper pack on it (direct on the battery posts) and I got in and it started right up.
Drove home. Shut off the car and let it sit for 30 min and went out and it started fine. Last night it was -7F. Car turned over a hair slow but started right up. Drove 17 miles to the office. I guess I will find out if I need a jump later !!
Pretty sure this car the starter is controlled by some electronics and no direct connection from the key switch. The battery is the original so coming on 5yrs old. | |
