North Dakota | I have a 97 Olds Bravada, so basically the same setup. The only time it hasn't started is when the temps are -20F or lower and I haven't plugged it in. Or -10F and I try to use the remote start. I did replace the key switch in the column 10 years ago but that was because the key wouldn't turn the cylinder. That vintage vehicle has a couple issues with the transmission neutral switch and the lockout of the keyswitch if it is not completely in park. I had ice in the linkage one time that stopped it from going all the way into park, looked like it was but it wasn't. I just put it in neutral and it started.
This car has 250K miles on it and was given to me by a customer as junk nearly 20 years ago. Had bad transmission and engine had cam out of it. It was our primary vehicle for 10 years. | |
