About 1/3 of the people will not answer Messenger. There's no way to contact them then.
That is the exact problem I am facing right now. They don’t list a phone number, and they don’t answer messenger. How do they expect to sell their item?
Some people aren't in a big hurry to sell stuff. Others seem to only respond to one person at a time so that they're not trying to keep track of who's first in line.
Basically you don't expect sellers to respond at your convenience, but if you for sure want something you need to be prepared to move on their schedule.
