West of Mpls MN about 50 miles on Hwy 12 | The first "real" gun I bought with my own money (an Ithaca single shot lever action .22lr) I ordered from the JCPenny catalog. I picked the gun up myself from the catalog order pickup counter at the JCPenny store after an orthodontist appointment as my mother was shopping for material and sewing supplies.
I had a note on file at the Gambles hardware store in town from my parents to buy .22lr and 20 gauge. That way I could ride my bike into town to cash my paycheck and buy ammo if they didn't have time to drive me....times sure have changed since the mid 70s. |
