An hour and ten minutes into the Seheult presentation and have not heard anything that does not agree with my prior learning about sun exposure. Top notch information so far. I do believe sun exposure is a good idea.
He talks about oxidation in mitochondria. Good explanation. The two things I have not heard him say to this point at least. The body produces the majority of melatonin within mitochondria. Most people only relate it with the pineal gland. And as we age our natural production drastically declines.
So is melatonin supplementation beneficial? There are arguments on both sides. My approach is "first do no harm". So far I see little danger of supplementation. So we take it.. But I am often wrong so NO one should consider that a recommendation.
Edit: At an hour and 56 minutes into it so far. Great presentation. Have not found a single thing to disagree with him on. He is espousing current science as I understand it. Thanks again for the link. Nothing new but a lot of current information all in one place.
