Cleveland, MS. Own small farm near Booneville, MS | I don't know the breed. Friend of mine lives along the Sunflower River. What I assume is a stray female gave birth to four pups in the river bank behind his house. Two of them look like a blue heeler, one is solid black, and one is solid brown. He's been feeding them but he did tell me that one (I don't know which) died recently. He thought it might have choked on something. He's been feeding them out of the goodness of his heart but has no desire to keep them around. A male stray has been seen around that we suspect is the sire. When I go deer hunting out there he has told me that if I get the opportunity I should eliminate the male. There are coyotes in the area but I don't believe any of these pups are related to a coyote. Come on down. Eat some good, farm raised catfish, tour the Railroad Museum, the Grammy Museum, historical Dockery Farm, and pick up a couple of new farm dogs. You can also see where all the good Iowa and Illinois dirt migrated to. :-) |
