north-central Indiana west of Fulton | It depends on the type of hole and what the rest of the tank is like inside. If it is an isolated hole , such as a crack at a weld….. Waterweld works pretty good. I have used regular JB Weld also. If the whole bottom of the tank is rusty and questionable….. it probably needs cleaned out and coated.
My nephew just did a MF 85 tank that had been coated years ago, but was needing redone . He made a 2 speed tumbler that you put acetone and shot or square headed nuts in the tank…. and let tumble for some time. Once clean to suit you, you put the Redcoat in and tumble.
