When you get it cleaned to use Red Kote or another of the liner kits, you’ll probably have a dozen holes instead of just one. Unless it’s a crack, RedKote will take care of the pin holes.

If it’s not structurally sound, you may have to braze or cut out the bad and weld in a new panel. Last one I brazed, looked like a colander when I put a bright light inside. So I got it where it was strong enough and then cleaned again before using the RedKote to make it leak proof.

I’ve done a few diesel tanks and have had good luck with them but I noticed the last time I bought a can it said on it not recommended for diesel. Only gas tanks I’ve done have been small engine size tanks. My 5020 John Deere has been done about 7 years. I should look at it and see if I can see anything wrong with it. Last one was a 3020 diesel and it’s been 4 or 5. Probably should have bought a plastic one for that since they’re available.
