Years ago I recommended a Midsota hydraulic tail to a friend and neighbor up in Idaho for use on his ranch and I still get thanked for the recommendation.lol I guess it's been flawless. You need to really watch the hydraulic tails, as cheaper trailers with softer metal can tear loose the hinges. Edit: a quick visit to the website shows "Midsota by Novae" which would indicate a buyout of some kind. definitely research further to ensure quality hasn't dropped. We have 5 PJ trailers on the farm and one Lonestar. For what I use them for (on road only where I need to be weight conscious with a 14k trailer) they do great. However I probably wouldn't recommend any of them for farm use. Big tex is below PJ in quality. Lnestar seems better than Big Tex, but still less than PJ. Load trail is similar to PJ. Try to go with a trailer from up north that actually knows what road salt is and what it can do to a trailer. I believe there is a company out of Indiana that offers a galvanized unit. Midsota I believe is still enamel paint which is superior to powder coat. avoid powder coat if you can. PJ for years never offered primer, then it was optional, now it's finally standard on the goosenecks. They had a handful of years of powder coat without primer and the powder coat came off in sheets.
