sw Nebraska | I have a 12 row I have run since 2017 or so. The original DMI versions were more popular than one Trippers to start out and the one Trippers were designed by a farmer in my county and sold to Orthman. Once you get them set I really don't change anything. Mostly just get them level side to side and front to back and set the Sunco row cleaners and you are good. They will make a nice berm and will go through most residue when not damp. Mine is 3 point and they had a run where the shanks were off and they would pull to one side but my dealer came and changed them out for a nominal labor fee in my shop. (Brothers Equipment). The only other caution is keep your closing disc bearings basically a wheel bearing type setup greased and tight and you will get along. Much less parts than a Krause/ Kuhn and you don't have to lift heavy stuff like the 1-Trippers to set. Also no depth band coulter which is a pain to change, I have an Orthman cultivator so have done it a couple times. You can run through these and change coulters in a hour or so....Good Luck JC | |
