Agent Orange: Friendly fire that keeps on burning. | Wolf Point is fairly small. We still have GM, Ford, and Jeep/Ram dealers. Knew the owners and bought vehicles from all of them. I'm getting old and sadly, the old timers are gone, and their children are gone too. About the only interaction I have with them these days is to drive past their lots. In the case of Stellantis, Frank Hanel took over from his FIL in the early 60s. He farmed next to us, in addition to his car dealership. Went to school with his kids and always had pleasant visits with him, so yeah, you could say I knew him. A young fellow married Frank's daughter and took over Camrud Motors. He renamed it Terrible Terry's. I knew him, one of my kin was his book keeper for a long time. Bought vehicles from Terry too. Health issues forced Terry to sell to the local Ford dealer. Knew and bought vehicles from the Ford dealer too. Current Ford dealer is a young man that my son went to school with. His father was an ex JD salesman that bought into Rathert Ford. Rathert ford used to be Rathert/Schreiber Ford and eventually became Rathert Ford when Charlie Rathert's son Bill took it over, after buying his brother Charles' Jr. interest. Chuck was one of my HS classmates. Rathert Ford became Rathert/Fox Ford when the JD salesman bought an interest. When Bill quit, due to health, it became Fox Ford. Wolf Point is a small town and everyone knows everyone. Oh yeah, the GM dealer is married to one of my distant cousins. He went to school with my son and I know him too. Why do you ask? |
