Agent Orange: Friendly fire that keeps on burning. | The new guy has his hands full. Dealer lots are full of overpriced Rams and Jeeps. Tavares thought he could make Ram and Jeep into "Luxury" brands, simply by raising their prices to luxury levels. Dealers have been howling for relief from Stellantis. I don't think they will like what's coming though. Pretty credible sources are talking about across the board cuts of 30 to 35% from MSRP. How would you like to be the dealer sitting an a dozen $125,000 Grand Waggoneers? When you open the doors for business under the new guy, your flagships are suddenly worth about $43K less than when you went home the day before. That's only about half a million and the mother company is broke. Who's going to take up that slack? Rows and rows of Jeeps and Rams, sitting on lots will see similar discounts. Now, think about what resale is going to be on a month or year old Ram or Jeep. Don't think that this action will only affect Jeep and Ram though. | |
