Subject: RE: who variable rates soybeans?

Whitewater, WI
I have been doing bean vr for a few years. I can say my yields have not changed and I am using about 0.8 units/ac rather than 1 as before. I am only running 2 rates based on harvest data averaged between both corn and beans. The yields generally follow the fertility of the soil so I have been happy with it.

I only run two rates, 3 on a couple larger farms, because the swings are 20k units. I feel the planter chases the rate with 20k rather than 2k on corn that it can keep up with. Probably averaging 120k on the better ground, 140k on the tougher ground. Planting on 30" rows.
