davpal - 12/23/2024 11:44 Who mandates a POS touch screen on ford vehicles? How about a compicated heater system with vaccum and electronic controlled blend doors and impossible to access heater and hvac equipment? Who mandates that a manufacturer like ford or John Deere would put a water pump inside of the engine? These companies have gone down a rabbit hole and these new car and truck designs are the biggest fubar that has ever been. They need a clean sheet of paper and everything on that vehicle should be simplified, made user friendly and the cost needs to be cut 50%. As long as people keep feeding this beast and buying this junk it's going to continue. There gets to a point where you're not going to be able to pay auto mechanics enough money to even deal with these vehicles anymore. I just read a repair video on a Mercedes car that had twin turbos and was 535 hp. To change the thermostat it was about a $1200 dollar bill. Thermostat was some electronic controlled pos and it was buried under the turbos. For WHAT? A car that has no practical use whatsoever. Instead of making the car that has 135 horsepower and has a $10 dollar thermostat that you can change in 10 minutes they make one 535 hp that takes 10 hours to change. Total madness. 99% of the population couldn't afford to own that car if they had it given to them for free. It would be like getting a free full grown pet elephant or giraffe.

Buddy is a millwright in a paper mill with help of YouTube and some smart remarks from his sons he swapped out the one is his Ford Flex. Hardest part was gagging over the price.
