Raw milk can pass on several diseases. Tuberculosis and brucellosis are two that come to mind. Keeping up to date with testing of the cows can minimize the risk. Drank raw milk from our own cow when I was a kid. Drink pasteurized milk now.


While testing can and has practically eliminated those two diseases in dairy cattle, they were only the “poster children” representatives of all the more common bacteria normally found in raw milk. E. coli, Campylobacter and Listeria are far more worrisome in the modern era.
