It's very difficult to find people who are willing to pay enough to make painting tractors for hire worthwhile. I've had people ask me and they are shocked at the price when I was half of what I should have been. The response was usually "well so and so does them for $700" to which I would let them know that for a good paint job my materials would cost more than that and I will have 80-100 hours of labor in it.
+1
I bet you’re way low on the 80-100 hrs. Don’t forget the other half of the equation of the mechanical aspect, I.e. getting all the leaks fixed first, etc. the last thing you want to do is tear apart a tractor after it has been perfectly painted.
Everyone wants a show condition paint job for a buzz bomb price.
Few realize the time and money involved in a #10 quality paint job. Pretty much anyone who has hired that kind of work done will never tell what the bill was.
I’d much rather have an original condition faded out tractor than a half donkey job.
BTW Dave excellent work and yes that is a #10 job. |
