| Was curious about UTVs. Seems like there are almost as many UTV brands as there are car brands in the US. John Deere, Kubota, Kawasaki, Polaris, Honda, Segway, Bad Boy, Club Car, Kymco, Can Am, CF Moto, Artic Cat, Yamaha, Massimo, Mahindra, Bobcat. They all seem to have their edge in a particular market. Kubota and Bobcat (toolcat at $60k) seem to be the heaviest/most heavy equipment like. Japanese (Honda, Kawasaki, Kubota, and Yamaha) seem to be the best mix of reliability and peformance. Polaris seems to be the prettiest toy with the best bells and whistles and brochure specs (far ahead of the competition) partially at the expense of reliability. Honda is the only shaft driven machine. Polaris also makes the Bobcat non Toolcat UTVs. Can am seems to be the premium version of Polaris. I thought Segway just made the mall cop machine but apparently they make UTVs with 100+ horsepower at approximately $14k price point. John Deere has a 4,000 pound towing capacity and green paint but it's the most expensive (aside from ridiculous Polaris models) and made of foreign parts far far away from Waterloo...Was wondering what folks think is the best mix of reliability, longevity, performance and comfort for a farm? What kind of lifespan have you gotten out of your utvs? Which ones would you avoid? Are you happy with the UTV you chose to buy? | |
