If your 660 has a serial port, you could get farmworks sitemate software and do variable rate with a laptop. There are a lot of panasonic toughbooks available used or re-furbished as police and fire dept. update often. They are available with daylight readable and touch screen for about 800. A lot have built in GPS, but most likely would want to attach a roof top receiver to it for better accuracy.
