| We have a 706 German diesel & would start down into the teens without an issue. You can pull the fuel shut off to help with starting. Our oil pump grenaded back in the mid 80s so we had a machine shop do an overhaul. When we got it back it would not start in 50* weather w/o either. Check timing marks & all checked out. Pulled the valve cover off & watched the valves & the exhaust valve was opening before it was at TDC. Pulled the cover & found the timing marks were a tooth off. Runs & starts like a champ again:) | |
