Converted out 2 trailers over to 17.5" a handful of years back. Not a blowout since, now we replace them when they're worn out. We've lately been putting 16 ply on. One of the biggest things we found to watch for is the speed rating, that's a plus to the 17.5's. They're over the road tires and rated for full highway speed with a load.
