I think that is exactly what happens. They blame the change rather than connecting pre-change symptoms to the actual cause of failure.
Yes, that's true. Back in the day when I did that full time, if someone came in complaining about the tranny acting up.........the only way we proceeded was to drain the oil and keep it clean. Change filter...........and put the old oil back in. With new fluid and filter it seemed like you were giving the transmission a death blow. Now if it was just part of a regular service.............then it was fine. |
