south texas | I'm not familiar with your series tractor but have 8970 experience and I believe the 24spd is the same transmission.
Like previous poster said check clutch cable. Also check the return spring to be sure it's returning correctly.
Below is my post about the fork in the control valve. Before tearing into I would check pressures to see what's going on.
