Fairly solid machine for its time. If it has the torque convertor transmission, make sure that it gets out of its own way going both forwards and backwards. Sluggish performance could be a number of things - tired engine, slipping clutch packs, faulty torque convertor, etc. Front axle king pins and thrust bearings should get a close look also.
