I like the zone builder concept of cutting slots in our heavy ground.
Listening to Rawsom talk over the years he liked the Zone Builder (ripper) they designed...rip in fall even if not ideal conditions and let the the frost follow the slot down in winter.
30 miles east of Detroit on Brookston clay , tiled well , we have compaction..Best is a really dry summer with big cracks or deep freeze/thaw.
