At 16 years old, I'd change it. Those short drives are alot of shifting back and forth, probably the equivalent to the number of shifts someone driving interstate miles sees in 75-100k. I go 5 years of 100,000 miles, which ever comes first.



I would agree with this. My brother had an old GM pickup that didn't get driven a whole lot of miles in a year, they told him to change tranny oil and filter every 30,000 miles. Got rid of it after it was 25 years old and had close to 300K miles, and was still going. Neighbor had its twin, never touched the tranny, and needed it rebuilt (if I remember right) between 150-160K. Both driven similarly.
