Subject: RE: Compaction

Michigan
I’ve no tilled certain fields for several consecutive years with rye cover crop between crops between and I just can’t make it work. Not saying it can’t work for others it just doesn’t for us. I’ve tried 3 coulter systems to John Deere single disk openers on an air drill and it just isn’t right for us. Neighbors hav all went through the same things. I’m mainly trying to see what others experience with any rippers or mechanical means of reducing compaction is and if it makes any difference. I like the zone builder concept of cutting slots in our heavy ground.
