Here's a thought. ACGO has basically hung its legacy brand dealers with a line of uncompetitive, out of date equipment while investing major dollars into a European brand that is only sold by large multi-store conglomerates that up to this point have struggled to get any real market penetration. How about instead of investing big bucks into some massively over engineered planter to be sold by dealers that don't hardly even sell planters, they make some meaningful updates to the Massey (White) planter line to give people a reason to look at them again. Maybe instead of investing massive dollars into that overcomplicated flop of a Fendt combine, they beef up the Gleaner a little to actually make a competitive and durable class 8 machine to sell against other large combine brands. And not just the drive train, the rest of the combine needs help too.
Then they go and spend big bucks on the most stagnant precision farming line in the industry to do what with, nobody really seems to know.
As usual, nobody seems to have a clue where AGCO is going, not even the people at the top.
Your rant is a contradiction.
First you complain that the agco offerings are uncompetitive & out of date, then you whine about a planter that was built from scratch to be cutting edge. There aren't many out there but those that have them seem to like them.
Fendt tractors are generally as good as or better than anything else out there. The 1000 series don't have a peer machine and have been well received.
Rogators to the best of my knowledge were the first of the big 3 NA brands to release recirculation & on the go high clearance factory options. Local coop loved their fendt rogator over deere last I talked to the operator.
The combine might not be what it should have been but there's no denying that they tried hard to make a competitive machine there as well.
You might not like agco's management and criticism there is fair, but denying that they can make a quality product is either ignorance or spite.
It is absolutely absurd to me that everyone is complaining about colors when it appears agco has finally narrowed its stable down to a manageable & recognizeable set of brands. Fendt was literally the only brand selling at a premium to cnh or deere, even in north America. Customers who are still buying agco equipment were literally telling agco with their $$ which brands should be continued, and fendt was at the top. I can't say I liked the decision to drop challenger but it makes sense. |
