I run a cover crop business in New England and we spend a good amount of time driving on the roads between farms and fields. It's time for a new set of rear tires. The cover crop machines do not pull hard (Phillips Harrow 4505) and an 8400 and an 8310. on them, so field traction not really an issue unless it is to wet to go and then we just go around. Should i just buy a set of used tires or is there a tire that will wear well with on road use. Got about 5 years out of a set of Alliance 18.4-46 on the rear (fronts are about 2-3 years) but they are worn down to the centers now and cracked real bad. Any recommendations would be great. For reference we cover about 7000 acres in a 70 mile by 70 mile square chunk. TIA
Michelin XF is probably the best for your use. |
