There was something that needed calibrated if the trannys shifted that rough. Most everybody with an open mind said that series of tractors you talk about shifted smoother than the 8000 series Deeres which were newer. BTW, that tranny you complained about, was built in a Deere factory (51% ownership, part of the reason Agco runs the CVT in everything now, so they could control quality and engineering).

Deere has put out more failures than any other company. They just turn their failures into marketing tools, (time to trade, combine upgrade programs, etc).
