This is is a seperate tangent, but I've noticed that interplanting sunflowers with cucurbits helps with the striped cucumber beetles. I think they're attracted to the yellow of the sunflower blossom, because they land on it and sort of wander around without penetrating down to the squash level. This is in a squash/corn/bean polyculture.
Any CRW in your area in 2024?
