The audiologists that saw me at the teaching university explained tinnitus this way. Consider a central command headquarters. The headquarters expects regular check in from all the outposts. When headquarters doesn’t receive the check in from one or more outposts it sends a request. This request then becomes the pseudo noise issue. It becomes something like a feed back issue.
This audiologists specializes in tinnitus patients. I have been fitted with blue tooth, rechargeable hearing aids that I can adjust with my iPhone. These hearing aids have a feature that cuts the amplification down when I’m in a noisy environment such as an older tractor cab. They also have a tinnitus manager feature that I can adjust the amount of and type of background noise. That’s all fine and good but the ringing continues.
I’ve been considering that some of the medications I’m taking could affect the tinnitus. | |
