We've always used the "crystals" as the one time we used the pellets, it lasted suspiciously long and we figured the idea was you want as much salt in the brine as possible when it cycles. Occasionally we have used a white salt block or four as we have pallets of them for the cows and they seem to dissolve pretty fast.
I thought with a water softener the resin beads/pellets were supposed to circulate or move during normal use or be agitated when it backwashes, or are they that tightly packed in there? | |
