No wood was harmed in the modification of these screws. The leftover section of aluminum I used has a dirty decal on it that might look a little bit like wood.

I'd love a collet chuck. When working with standard diameter stock they are lightning fast and as you said, really help with radial runout. This lathe is a Jet from the 1970s and the spindle threads are one of a kind, they do not match with common spindle threads. Putting a collet chuck on would require machining a custom faceplate to mount the chuck. A project that I have not yet found time or motivation for yet.

Thanks for the recommendation on the hexagon collet holder. I've never used one and wasn't aware they existed until you mentioned them. Thanks.
