dig out black dirt get down to clay base and what rock or gravel would you use?, need something that packs well but still lets water through and levels easy enough for all the turning with track machines.
thinking 4-6" or so of 1.5" rock base then top dress with clean 3/4" rock no fines, seems like the class5 and rock with fines around here just turns to slim this time of year and spring.
what about running tile through yard or putting down fabric

Before this question gets answered, you need to make sure you have a plan for grading for drainage. You NEED at least a 1% grade across gravel to prevent water pooling. That's 1 foot of drop in 100 feet, or about an inch in 10 feet. Get the proper grade established, then you can put whatever you want. My choice is 15-18" of properly compacted Class 5 over fabric.
