GoogleTV/android/chromecast is all confusing to me. If buying a steaming stick I think the Googletv is a safe bet but I’ve only used those baked into the tv software itself. I’ve always preferred using a steaming device over the apps on a tv because they have better software support over time.

Whatever you have, get a free trial to YoutubeTV. That’ll tell you if live streaming tv will work for you. You can also try Philo, limited channels but cheap. Hulu live tv has always been buggy for me.

You’ve also got the free apps that will give you free streaming with commercials like PlutoTV and Tubi. Great for classic stuff.

The Dish merger with DirectTV was called off this week. Who knows if Dish will even exist much longer.
